Jackie Robinson West head to Disney World

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

The celebration's keep coming for Chicago's home town heroes. The boys of the Jackie Robinson West Little League team along with their parents headed off to Disney World.

The team received a big send off at O'Hare Airport on Friday and what a party it was.

There are about 35 members of the team including players, coaches, and family members taking part in the trip to Orlando.

United Airlines paid for the flight but before they boarded, passengers, flight crew, and O'Hare staff gave the team a big send off at the gate.

It's been almost two weeks since the all-stars won the national championship and then faced South Korea in the Little League World Series final.

The team has made appearance all over the city, participated in rallies and the parade last week. They were also honored by the White Sox, Cubs, and Dick's Sporting Goods.

They have been ambassador's of good sportsmanship and success.

The admit the attention has been exhausting and wonderful but now it's time for some serious fun.

"I feel excited and I'm happy we're going as a team," said D.J. Butler.

"It's my first time going to Disney World and I just want to experience the fun. And I want to see Mickey Mouse and I want to have fun at Disney World," another player said.

Reverend Jesse Jackson oradaganized the trip. Rainbow Push Coalition was able to get Disney and United Airlines on board.

He said that some of these parents have never been on a plane before but now as families and as a team, they will get to enjoy each other's company and have fun.

The trip is a quick one as the team will be returning to Chicago on Sunday so the players can get back in school.
