CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A North Side woman was ordered held in lieu of $450,000 bail Wednesday for allegedly trying to kidnap a two-year-old boy who had been standing with his family waiting for relatives to land at O'Hare International Airport, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

The boy was just feet away from his mother and 1-year-old brother in Terminal 3 late Tuesday afternoon when Olachi Etoh grabbed him and went down an escalator, Assistant Cook County State's Attorney Lorraine Scaduto said.

The mom ran down the escalator and was able to get the boy back “within moments,” police said.

Etoh, 24, continued going down the escalator but she returned a few minutes later to where the boy and his family were, Scaduto said.

The boy's family contacted authorities and Etoh was arrested, Scaduto said.

The entire incident was captured on surveillance and cameras and it was determined that Etoh was not scheduled to fly anywhere that day, Scaduto said.

Etoh, of the 3400 block of North Halsted Street, is facing a felony count of aggravated kidnapping and a misdemeanor count of battery.
