More than $5K worth of crack cocaine found in man’s car

CRYSTAL LAKE, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A Chicago man already on parole for drug charges was arrested again Tuesday after officers found more than 50 grams of crack cocaine in his vehicle, according to police.

Nicholas J. House, 30, is charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance and possession of cannabis, according to a statement from the McHenry County sheriff's office.

On Tuesday, sheriff's officers saw “suspicious activity” in the 5700 block of Northwest Highway in Crystal Lake, according to the statement. They arrested House and found 1.5 grams of cannabis on him, according to the statement.

Another search turned up 58 grams of crack cocaine in his vehicle, with an estimated street value of $5,800, according to the statement.

House, already on parole for drug-related charges, was ordered held on a $200,000 bond, according to the statement. He is next scheduled to appear in court Friday.
