LINCOLNWOOD, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Federal authorities are investigating after someone set fire to two postal vans Monday night in north suburban Lincolnwood.

Firefighters responded to a blaze at the U.S. Postal Service facility in the 6500 block of Lincoln at 9:20 p.m., according to the Lincolnwood Fire Department.

Two postal vans were fully engulfed in flames, according to the fire department.

The blaze also damaged a window of the postal facility, but no other damage was sustained to the building, and no one was hurt, according to the fire department.

“We are investigating, but it looks like a case of arson,” said Julie Kenney, a representative for the U.S. Postal Service in Chicago.

Kenney said it appears one of the vans was set on fire, and the blaze spread to the other van.

No mail was damaged in the fire, she said, and no one is in custody.
