Dog in wheelchair looking for new home

Posted: Updated:

A dog rescuer in West Michigan is looking for a good home from a special puppy.
Kathy Guminski answered an ad for a dog with special needs, that was set to be euthanized within a few days if no one claimed her.
The puppy named Maya, was born with a spinal deformity and spent much of her seven-month long life caged.
Guminski, decided to take on the challenge and set up a GoFundMe website to purchase a wheelchair for the young pit-bull.
She says that even though the puppy may need surgery, she has made big improvements in recent weeks.
"I saw her on Facebook," she said, "I saw a post that said look if we can't find an adopter by Friday we're going to have to euthanize her."
"She's already going to be somebody's really good dog. They just have to be willing to help her out. I mean eventually I honestly think she might not need that chair," she added.
Guminski now hopes that the dog will be adopted.
