CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A portion of the O’Hare Branch of the Blue Line on the Northwest Side will be closed this weekend for repairs as part of the “Your New Blue” project.

Service will be suspended between the Western and Logan Square stations beginning at 10 p.m. Friday until 4 a.m. Monday, according to a statement from the CTA.

The CTA will provide free bus shuttles at the Western, California and Logan Square stations 24 hours a day. However, the agency advises customers to allow 15-20 minutes of extra travel time.

Additionally, the No. 73 Armitage bus will be detoured to adjacent streets between Campbell and Milwaukee, according to the statement.

The construction is part of the $492 Your New Blue project, which will provide smoother commutes and improved stations on the Blue Line.
