New Jersey Man Accused Of Killing Girlfriend Appears In Court

Posted: Updated:
CAMDEN COUNTY, N.J. -

A man accused of killing his girlfriend and then dumping her body along a roadside in New Jersey appeared in court on Wednesday.

U.S. Marshals picked up 52-year old Kevin Ambrose a few days ago. He's facing murder charges for stabbing 41-year-old Jennifer Bongco to death.

Kevin Ambrose stood stoic during his brief arraignment, as more than half a dozen officers stood around him. The 52-year-old is accused of stabbing his girlfriend, Jennifer Bongco, to death on July 24th

Today, Assistant Prosecutor Howard Gilford laid out the disturbing details of the murder

Family and friends of Bongco filled the court room, including coworkers from the nursing home where she worked. They listened as the prosecutor detailed how Bongco's daughter witnessed her mother's murder shortly after the three of them stopped at Wawa.

Assistant Prosecutor Gilford says Ambrose dumped Bongco's lifeless body on the side of the road on Erial and Wilton's Landing Road and then drove her 5-year-old daughter to the home they all shared, less than a mile away. Then, someone at the home find the little girl and called 9-1-1.

The Prosecutor says a pizza delivery driver find Bongco's body a short time after the 9-1-1 call. If convicted Ambrose faces 30 years-life in prison.
