CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

If you and the family find yourself in Bourbonnais for Chicago Bears training camp and are looking for more than just some football fun, we’re your official tour guide for the area.

Obviously we're all focused on the Bears right now but if you end up having a little free time in Bourbonnais, there's plenty of things to do that's fun for the family and easy on the wallet, check it out.

Bears fans, it’s time. We’ve waited patiently, and the hibernation is over. Here’s a look at everything Bourbonnais has to offer.

For some miniature sized fun, head on out to Perry Farm Park, a 170-acre crop of playgrounds, picnic areas, and yes – little tiny horses.

Whether it’s feeding the animals or just enjoying a hay ride, Perry Farm Park is a quiet break away from the madness of every day life.

A stone’s throw away is the Exploration Station Children’s Museum, an interactive and hands-on learning experience for kids and the kid in all of us.

From castles and airplanes to firetrucks and exotic animals, a world of knowledge is 10,000 square feet of fun.

Miniature golf, go karts and batting cages can all be found in Bourbonnais at the Hidden Cove Family Fun Park, which opens Friday.

Grab a slice of pizza, catch a fast ball, hit a hole in one and race the tracks all in one spot – if our Bears can be winners, so can you.

Walking distance from the Bears training camp is the Strickler Planetarium, one of only three in the state with digital projection capabilities, rocketing you off into the furthest reaches of space while never leaving the ground of Bourbonnais.

And finally, after a day of fun and adventure in Bourbonnais, you’re bound to be hungry – why not head on over to Jaenicke’s Drive In?

A local slice of culinary heaven, the killer combination of a dog, some fries and a shake is the perfect end to a day of some intense Bears training.

While all focus is on what the Bears can do to guarantee a great season, there’s no reason to miss everything Bourbonnais.

But for now, it’s time to throw on our pads and look toward the future. Let’s get to work.
