CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) - A south suburban man is the second to be charged and ordered held without bond for fatally shooting one man and wounding two others almost two months ago in Englewood.

Dayvon Bennett, 19, of Hazel Crest faces one count of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder in connection with the May 29 shootings, Chicago Police announced Tuesday.

Bennett, who witnesses identified as a Black Disciples gang member, was at a birthday party in the 5700 block of South LaSalle where rival gang members were also present, prosecutors said Thursday.

He left the party with 23-year-old Michael Wade--the other man charged--and returned to the home about 45 minutes later at 6 p.m., prosecutors said. Both were armed with handguns.

The two walked toward the home and started shooting at three men who were sitting on the porch, prosecutors said. Two of the men, 23 and 24, tried to run away when they saw Wade and Bennett with guns, but were shot. The 23-year-old was shot in the mouth and leg, and the 24-year-old in his foot.

Both suspects also shot the third man on the porch, 19-year-old Malcolm Stuckey, in the head and right thigh before driving off, prosecutors said. Stuckey, of the 16000 block of Carrington Drive in South Holland, was found face down by police near the home and pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.

Both Wade, 23, of the 7200 block of South Champlain; and Bennett, of the 16900 block of South Jodave Avenue in Hazel Crest, were identified by witnesses as the shooters, police said.

Cook County Judge Laura Sullivan ordered Bennett held without bond Thursday.

Wade is also charged with one count of murder and two counts of attempted murder, and was ordered held without bond Tuesday. He is next scheduled to appear in court Aug. 12.
