White Sox Adam Eaton wins 2014 Heart and Hustle Award

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Adam Eaton of the Chicago White Sox won the 2014 Heart and Hustle Award, according to a press release from the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association (MLBPAA).

The award is given to one player on each team in Major League Basbeall. It honors players currently playing who show a passion for the game of baseball and best embody the values, spirit and tradition of the game.

“He embodies all the qualities the Heart and Hustle Award represents and is an inspiring role model to young players,” MLBPAA Director of Communications Nikki Warner said in the release.

Also, the Heart and Hustle Award is the only award in Major League Baseball that is voted on by former players.

Towards the end of the season, Alumni and active players choose one winner out of those who won the Heart and Hustle Award. The final winner will be announced on November 18, 2014 at the 15th Annual Legends for Youth Dinner in New York City.
