WAUKEGAN, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A homeless man was arrested Sunday morning shortly after he entered a north suburban apartment and touched a woman while she slept, according to police.

About 7 a.m., the man entered the apartment of a 25-year-old woman through an unlocked door in the 2600 block of Cornelia Avenue in Waukegan, according to a statement from Waukegan police.

He touched the woman while she was sleeping, but she was able to get out of the room, grab her young child, leave the apartment and give police a description of the man, police said.

Police said 33-year-old Lliau Moreno-Tepecha was located nearby and confessed to the crimes.

Moreno-Tepecha, who is homeless, was charged with home invasion, criminal trespass to residence, criminal sexual abuse, attempted criminal sexual assault and residential burglary, police said.

He is being held at the Lake County Jail on a $500,000 bond and is next scheduled to appear in court Aug. 12, police said.
