Rallies to protest Detroit water shutoffs

Posted: Updated:
DETROIT (WJBK) - Protesters gathered on Grand Boulevard in Detroit outside the Homrich facility, where contractors are in charge of turning water on and off in Detroit. These protesters from Detroit to Flint to New York blocked the exit for the crews to do their work.

The company officials weren't able to go out on their morning runs to turn water off, but the company was also stopped from going out to turning the water back on after delinquent customers paid off their past dues. So now those customers sit without water so far on Friday for a different reason.

A Fox 2 crew at the scene of this protest says nine people have been arrested.
