Judge orders trial for men in 2 teens drug slayings

Posted: Updated:
(WJBK) - A hearing resumed for a third day to determine whether two men will stand trial for first-degree murder in the drug-related killing of two suburban Detroit teens in 2012.

The bodies of 17-year-old Jourdan Bobbish and 18-year-old Jacob Kudla were found in a field on Detroit's east side. The Westland residents had been missing for five days.

A probable cause hearing began July 9 for Fredrick Young of Detroit and Ferlando Hunter of Jackson.

One witness who took the stand Wednesday says he's known Hunter since they were kids, and that Hunter told him everything about the night in July 2012 when  Hunter and Frederick Young beat, robbed and murdered Kudla and Bobbish.

"He said that two white boys had rode up on him looking for pills," the witness, who will not be identified, said in court.

The witness asked us not to identify him because he testified against them in another murder trial, when he first talked to police he said in 2012 his house was firebombed, his car was burnt up and his house was shot all with his wife and seven children inside.

The witness testified the group then all went to house on Algonac, where the men are said to have turned on the teens.

VIDEO: Hear what else the witness had to say in court in the report from Fox 2's Amy Lange.

Hearing what the witness had to say reduced Jacob's mother to tears.

The witness testified Hunter told him they drove for an hour and ended up in a field on Detroit's east side where this nightmare turned deadly.

For most inside this courtroom, there's no question that pure evil is sitting at this table.

The judge bound them over for trial.
