Police release photo of SUV tied to Evanston shooting

EVANSTON, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Police in Evanston have released a photo of a vehicle possibly connected to a shooting Tuesday afternoon in the northern suburb.

About 12:55 p.m., s 21-year-old Evanston man was shot in the leg in the 2000 block of Dodge Avenue, according to Evanston police. He was taken to NorthShore University HealthSystem Evanston Hospital, police said.

A surveillance camera captured an image of an SUV, possibly a rented Hyundai Tucson, thought to be involved, police said.

Anyone who can identify the vehicle or has information about the shooting should call detectives at (847) 866-5040. Citizens can also text 274637 with EPD TIP followed by the information.
