2 men back in court in deaths of Westland teens

Posted: Updated:
DETROIT (WJBK) -  Two men returned to court for a hearing to learn if they'll face trial in the deaths of a Detroit-area teenager and his friend in 2012.

The bodies of 17-year-old Jourdan Bobbish and 18-year-old Jacob Kudla were found in a field on Detroit's east side. The Westland residents had been missing for five days.

Prosecutors charged Fredrick Young of Detroit and Ferlando Hunter of Jackson nearly two years after the teens were found.

Young and Hunter were in court Wednesday to determine if there's enough evidence to send the case to trial in Wayne County court.

She also reports about a disruption in the courtroom after one of the suspects was accused of making lewd gestures at one of the victim's family members, causing another family member to erupt in outrage and be removed from the room.

The victims were last seen when they left the Detroit home of Kudla's uncle. Police say a car belonging to Kudla was stripped and cleaned with bleach to get rid of fingerprints.

The preliminary examination resumes Monday.
