CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

For the second day in a row, all garages at Navy Pier have filled up due to high demand from the holiday weekend.

The pier issued a statement about 2 p.m. Saturday stating all on-site garages were filled to capacity.

Visitors are encouraged to either take public transportation to Navy Pier or park at one of the partner garages for a discounted parking rate of $15 for up to 12 hours:

-Grand Plaza Self Park, 540 N. State St.

-Ogden Plaza Self Park, 300 E. North Water St.

-Millennium Lakeside Garage, 5 S. Columbus Dr.

Drivers who park at Grand Plaza or Ogden can present their parking ticket at the Navy Pier Guest Services desk for the $15 discount. Validation at Millennium Lakeside will be given on that garage’s provided trolley that shuttles guests back from the pier.

The pier issued a statement Friday about 2:30 p.m. stating all garages had filled up. By 6:30 p.m., the pier stopped allowing guests in after the pier hit maximum capacity.
