CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

A 16-year-old boy died after he fell into Lake Michigan on the North Side Sunday evening.

The teen fell into the water near the 4000 block of Recreation Drive about 6:10 p.m., police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said.

Gyron Webb, of the 1400 block of West 51st Street, was pulled from the lake and taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 7:06 p.m., according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

An autopsy performed Monday found the teen drowned, and listed hypothermia from submersion in the cold water as a secondary factor, the medical examiner’s office said. His manner of death was not determined.
