CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

The “people mover” trains at O’Hare International Airport will be closed during the overnight hours for a week starting Friday.

The partial closure of the Airport Transit System will allow crews to work on a bridge notification project for a Balmoral Drive extension into O’Hare, the Department of Aviation said in a release.

Train service will be suspended between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. every day, from Friday through the morning of July 4, the department said.

During those hours, travelers and airport employees can take a bus shuttle between O’Hare’s economy lots and the terminals. Passengers should allow extra travel time.

The work will resume July 7, after the Independence Day holiday travel period, and conclude July 9.
