CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Asha, the baby klipspringer at the Lincoln Park Zoo, has died unexpectedly, the zoo announced Thursday.

A zookeeper found Asha unresponsive in her habitat and rushed her to the veterinarian. Sadly, Asha was pronounced dead at the vet. The cause of her death is unknown at this time.

"The zoo’s animal care staff is deeply saddened by this unexpected loss, and asks the public to keep the zoo family in their thoughts during this difficult time," the Lincoln Park Zoo said in a statement Thursday.

Asha was born at the zoo on March 30. When her mother was unable to provide adequate care, zookeepers stepped in and provided her with round-the-clock care.
