BROOKFIELD, Ill. (FOX 32 News) -

A White-cheeked gibbon baby was born at Brookfield Zoo on June 9.

Since his birth, the baby has been staying close to his mother. Officials say he will most likely stay close to her for the next few months.

The baby is the third male baby born to 25-year-old Indah in the last five years. The entire family can be seen at Brookfield Zoo's Tropic World: Asia exhibit. As the new baby gets older, zoo-goers can see him play with his older brothers!

The baby's parents, Indah and Benny, have been at Brookfield Zoo since 1995. White cheeked gibbons are critically endangered in their native habitat of Vietnam and are presumed extinct in China.
