City, Citizens Utility Board launch power calculator

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

The Citizens Utility Board and the city of Chicago launched a free calculator to help consumers decide if they should stay with the city's power deal with Integrys or switch to ComEd.

The Citizens Utility Board said they expect to receive alot of questions about new fees they are beginning to see on their power bills. Officials say the power calculator will help consumers better understand their rates.

Many households will add to their savings under the new Integrys plan, but others will see their initial savings partially reduced and may want to switch back to ComEd. The calculator is designed to help households make that decision by showing people what they would pay for electricity with ComEd versus Integrys.
