HUNTLEY, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

No one was hurt when a hot air balloon crashed in northwest suburban Huntley Tuesday morning, the second hot air balloon crash in the area in five days.

The hot air balloon, operated by Sky Soaring in Hampshire, crashed in the street near Windy Prairie Drive and Songbird Lane at 7:26 a.m., according to Huntley police.

The balloon landed safely and neither the pilot nor three passengers were hurt, a statement from police said.

The pilot said wind was carrying the balloon and he did not want to cross Route 47 and get near power lines along I-90, according to police.

The crash is the second hot air balloon incident in Huntley in five days, police said.

On Friday, balloon operated by International Balloon Management landed at Pinecrest Golf Course with three people inside, police said. One person suffered minor injuries as a gust of wind blew the balloon after it landed.

The balloon damaged a tree and a portion of the golf course, police said.
