COAL CITY, Ill (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Crews were still looking for someone in the water Sunday evening after rescuing three others at Dresden Lock and Dam in southwest suburban Coal City.

Some time Sunday afternoon, a boat was somehow pulled beyond the dam before four people inside fell in the water, said Nick Doerlfer, lieutenant paramedic and the fire protection district’s spokesman.

A tug boat was on scene and assisted in pulling two people out of the water before the fire protection district arrived, Doerfler said. The third person was rescued once crews made it on scene.

Crews were still searching for a fourth person as of 5 p.m. and the U.S. Coast Guard and the Illinois State Conservation Police were assisting.
