ATLANTA - Investigators say a man was shot and killed in the middle of an Atlanta neighborhood on Sunday.

A spokesperson of the Atlanta Police Department says they responded to the corner of Oakland Drive and Campbellton Road around 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Neighbors holding a Father's Day barbeque called 911 after seeing the man get shot.

The victim has been identified as Frances Edmonds, 21, from Atlanta.

Witnesses say the Edmonds was shot several time including at least once in the head outside the Rev. James Orange Recreation Center. They say the gunman drove away from the scene in a white car.

Edmonds was rushed to Grady Memorial where he later died.

Investigators are trying to determine a possible suspect and motive for the shooting.
