CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

The Chicago Fire Soccer Club announced its plans Wednesday of how it will take advantage of the 2014 World Cup, according to a press release by the Chicago Fire organization.

The soccer club will capitalize on the Cup by releasing a schedule of viewing parties in partnership with U.S. Soccer, revealing a new local TV advertising campaign to air locally, and launching the Fire’s online hub for all things World Cup in Chicago.

“With all eyes on Brazil for the next month, the 2014 World Cup presents a unique opportunity for the Fire,” Chicago Fire Chief Operating Officer Atul Khosla said in a statement. “As fans of the global sport engage with us in-market, see our ads on TV or visit our website for news about the tournament, we hope to generate new interest in the Fire and attract more fans to Toyota Park for the rest of the season and beyond.”

The Fire have also partnered with ‘The Chop Shop’ and will have viewing parties for the Cup at a location in Wicker Park.
