CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

The City of Harvey’s mayor will not allow rapper Chief Keef to perform his concert in the city, according to a statement released by the city.

Harvey’s mayor, Eric J. Kellogg, on Wednesday was notified of the attempt to switch Chief Keef’s concert from Cicero to Harvey. He ordered the Police Chief to contact the King of Diamonds Nightclub and inform them that the rapper would not be allowed there.

Four years ago in Markham, Chief Keef held a concert and gunshots were fired, as well as one person was killed. The rapper has also written songs that have led to death threats against him in southern Cook County.

Kellogg’s top priority is to protect the citizens of Harvey from potential danger.

Police in Harvey will be on high alert this weekend. The city stands united with Chicago and the Town of Cicero against violence as it relates to Chief Keef.
