Police: Robber stole cash register drawer from Lansing Walgreens

LANSING, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) - Police in south suburban Lansing are searching for a man who stole a cash register drawer from a Walgreens store Monday night.

Police were called to the robbery at 3564 Ridge Road about 10 p.m., Lansing police said in a release.

The suspect approached the counter to make a purchase, then reached over and grabbed the cash drawer after the clerk opened the register, police said.

He ran away westbound, and no one was injured, police said.

He is described as a black man about 30 to 40 years old, about 6-foot-3 and 230 pounds wearing a dark brown velour sweat suit, police said.
