CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Police are searching for a man who tried to lure a girl to his car on Monday in the West Side North Lawndale neighborhood.

About 6:45 p.m., a girl was walking in the 1500 block of South Keeler Avenue when a man drove up and began talking to her, according to a police alert. The man then waved a handful of twenty dollar bills at the victim and told her to come to his car.

The girl ran home and the man drove eastbound, police said.

He is described as a 35- to 45-year-old white man with short black hair, a chubby face, light complexion and a clean, groomed beard, police said. He was wearing a white baseball hat with one black horizontal stripe and a red T-shirt.

He was driving a white Ford Explorer, police said.
