CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) - Ninety-one World War II veterans from Chicago and the surrounding communities returned home Wednesday night from being honored in Washington, D.C.

Honor Flight Chicago flew the vets to Washington, D.C. to reflect at their memorials. They were given top priority because the memorial opened in May 2004, but many of the vets could not afford to go or physically couldn’t. Expenses of the trip were completely covered by Honor Flight Chicago.

The vets arrived at Midway Airport around 9 p.m Wednesday.
