CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

The manager of a Wrigleyville bar has provided police surveillance tapes in hopes of finding a man who sexually assaulted a woman inside the bar early Sunday.

The sexual assault happened about 12:15 a.m. at The Irish Oak, 3511 N. Clark, according to police.

The 27-year-old woman was at the bar with a friend when she went downstairs to use the bathroom and didn’t return. When her friend went to check on her, the woman told her a man pushed her into a stall in the men’s washroom and sexually assaulted her. He then fled, police said.

The two walked out of the bar and called 911. She was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Hospital, according to police.

The bar’s general manager was notified of the rape and has provided police with video surveillance of the stairs leading to the washrooms, police said.

The general manager declined to comment.

The suspect is described as a black man, about 6-foot, 170 pounds and wearing a gray T-shirt and blue jeans.

The woman was listed in stable condition at the hospital.
