A 75-year-old man was injured in a hit-and-run early Saturday in the Heart of Chicago neighborhood on the Lower West Side.

The man was crossing the street at a crosswalk about 5:55 a.m. in the 2500 block of South Blue Island Avenue, when he was struck by a silver vehicle, said police News Affairs Officer Jose Estrada. The vehicle then drove away.

The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was listed in “stable” condition, Estrada said.
