CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

After a thrilling win Wednesday night to keep the Hawks alive in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, Blackhawks fever is red hot in Chicago!

The Chicago Blackhawks success over the past few years has business on and off the ice booming - especially ice rinks where locals can hit the ice and put their hockey skills to the test. Johnny's Ice House at Madison and Loomis gives people that chance.

Johnny's offers all types of leagues and pick up games to teach people to skate. And the facility has become a must for visitors this day.

"You don't understand how talented they are (the Blackhawks) until you put on a pair of skates yourself and try to stand up. People see that and it is electrifying," a Johnny's Ice House employee said.

FOX 32's Joanie Lum reports tourists from Canada, Mexico and other areas of the world, have paid a visit to Johnny's.

The Blackhawks store at the Madhouse on Madison has also seen a significant increase in business. Employees at the store say they ran out of shirts for women and have begun customizing shirts to keep up with the demand.

"People are coming in here everyday and on game days. We have people waiting at the door. It is very crazy on game days. People come in here for Blackhawks, Blackhawks, Blackhawks," one store employee said.
