Suspects sought after delivery driver robbed at gunpoint

Posted: Updated:
DETROIT (WJBK) -- Police are looking for two suspects after a delivery driver was robbed at gunpoint early morning Thursday.

According to police, an order came in to the Deluxe Coney Island located at Seven Mile Road and Conant Street around 3:50 a.m. Thursday.

When the delivery driver reached the location to deliver the order, police say he was robbed at gunpoint by two black males. One of the men is said to have had dreads.

FOX 2's Amy Lange reports the delivery driver, Gerry Degree, got out of his car and walked up to a man sitting on the porch.

"I asked him if he had an order for Coney Island and he said yes. ... And he looked at me and said 'The other guy got you,' so when I turned around the other guy had a gun on him [and] told me to give up everything," says Degree.

He says the men took about $38 worth of food, his ID, his money and even the green 1997 Hundai he was driving.

Degree is reminding others to "be careful" if you go out at night and "watch your back."
