Report: Corey Crawford under investigation for brush with Kings fan

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Chicago Blackhawks goalie Corey Crawford is under investigation by the LAPD after reportedly squirting a heckler in the face with a water bottle during Game 4 Monday night, TMZ reports.

According to TMZ, 27-year-old Kings fan Clark Wong filed a battery report Monday night saying he was "sprayed" in the face with a water bottle by Crawford. Wong told TMZ he was "heckling" Crawford when he was pulled from the game.

Wong says he thinks the water bottle was filled with backwash and water. He says the incident caused him serious irritation to his eyes.

Officials with the NHL told TMZ Wong was ejected from the game shortly after the incident reportedly occurred for "taunting the players." They say Wong did not begin complaining about his eyes until he was being escorted from the Staples Center.

WSCR the Score reached out to LAPD for comment Wednesday morning and they denies any charge was ever filed. Stay tuned for updates on this story.
