Police warn of Near West Side, Ukrainian Village robberies

Police are warning people of recent robberies in the Ukrainian Village and Near West Side neighborhoods throughout the last month.

In three separate incidents, one or two males approached female victims, physically attacked them and stole their purses, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.

The robberies happened:

- About 5:07 p.m. May 24 in the 1800 block of West Fulton Street.

- About 12:25 a.m. May 22 in the 1700 block of West Augusta Boulevard.

- About 9:40 p.m. May 12 in the 1100 block of North Wood Street.

One suspect is described as a black man, between the 20 and 30 years old, standing between 5-foot-5 and 5-foot-8 and weighing between 120 and 150 pounds, police said. The other suspect is described as a 6-foot, 200-pound black man, between 25 and 35 years old.
