CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

A 12-year-old and two young men were shot in the area of 143rd and Woodlawn Avenue in Dolton shortly before 11 a.m. on Monday.

A man sitting in a gold colored Chrysler 300 was exchanging words with a bicyclist. After the conversation, the man in the vehicle and the bicyclist parted ways. Not long after, the man in the Chrysler began traveling northbound on Woodlawn firing shots. He struck three males who allegedly were not involved in the conversation between the Chrysler driver and the bicyclist.

The intended target of the shooting was supposedly not struck, and authorities are working to learn the identity of the bicyclist who rode away before the incident.

The first victim was a 12-year-old boy who was hit with gunfire a block away on the 14200 block of Avalon. He was hit in the right arm and taken to St. Margaret’s Hospital in Hammond.

The second victim was a 21-year-old man who was struck twice, once in the right hand and right thigh. He was also taken to St. Margaret’s.

The third victim was a 17-year-old man who was hit in the right thigh and the bullet traveled up to his left lower abdomen. He was taken to St. Ingalls Hospital in Harvey.

The victims are supposedly not in life-threatening condition. Authorities from Dolton PD are interviewing witnesses. Anyone with information should call 1-708-201-3200.
