Woman with dementia missing from Austin

Police issued a high-risk alert for an elderly woman with dementia who went missing Tuesday afternoon from the West Side Austin neighborhood.

Rosie Branchcomb, 70, was last seen Tuesday at noon in the 5200 block of West Quincy Street, according to a statement from police News Affairs.

Branchcomb, who suffers from dementia, is described as a 5-foot-7, 210-pound black woman with gray hair, brown eyes and a dark complexion, police said.

She was last seen wearing a pink sweater, blue jogging pants and pink Adidas gym shoes, police said. She also had on a red, white and blue scarf, and was carrying three different purses, police said.

Branchcomb frequents Oak Park and the area near West Washington Boulevard and North Kedzie Avenue, police said.
