AURORA, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Police said a west suburban man was driving with a blood alcohol level more than four times the legal limit on Sunday afternoon, the Beacon News is reporting.

According to police reports, a witness called 911 after she noticed a vehicle almost being driven off the road. She said she had followed the car, driven by Michael Wagner, into a parking lot near Route 56 and Kirk Road, where she had blocked it in.

Police arrived around 2:20 p.m. and began to question Wagner, 41, about what had happened.

Inside Wagner’s vehicle, police found two empty bottles of peach-flavored liquor, and more than a half-dozen full bottles.

Wagner, of Glen Ellyn, told the police he believed he was in Barrington, according to police reports. Reports show Wagner stumbled when he got out of his vehicle to perform sobriety tests, but told police he had not had anything to drink that day. He admitted to drinking the night before at a family party, police said.

Wagner’s blood alcohol level was taken, and was more than four times the legal limit of .08, according to police.

He was charged with multiple counts of drunken driving, illegal transportation of alcohol, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
