Police warn of commercial burglaries on South Side

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Police are warning about commercial burglaries in the Gage Park and Chicago Lawn neighborhoods on the South Side.

In each incident, occurring in April and May, at least one person forcibly entered a business and took property, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.

The incidents have occurred at the following places and times:

• 5900 block of South Kedzie Avenue on April 16 during the early morning hours.

• 5900 block of South Kedzie Avenue on April 30 during the early morning hours.

• 5800 block of South Kedzie Avenue on May 11 or 12 during the overnight hours.

Police advise people in the area to keep their properties well-lit, keep doors and windows secured and immediately repair broken windows, doors or locks.
