CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) - Streamwood High School was on a 'hold in place' after an altercation involving students Tuesday.

According to the high school's website, police were called to the school after multiple students were involved in an altercation. The hold in place was lifted Tuesday afternoon.

The situation was described as "calm." No one suffered any significant injuries, but a total of six students were arrested, police said. No weapons were used in the fight, and no weapons were found on school grounds.

Students remained in class Tuesday. School was scheduled to dismiss as normal. School officials say if parents wish to pick up their child early, they should do so at the east gym entrance. Parents must provide ID to pick up their child.

Police stayed in the building for the remainder of the day.

School officials ask anyone with information about the incident to call (630) 213-5500, ext. 4949.
