CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) - May 8th went down in the record books for some areas around Chicago.

Chicago’s Midway airport reached a record high of 93 degrees while O’Hare reached 89 which was only 2 degrees shy of tying the record of 91 set back in 1963.

This early occurrence of 90 degree temperatures had not happened in a decade, and for some communities, longer than that.

The image attached to the right is a table put together from the National Weather Service office in Romeoville showing the high on May 8th, the last time 90 degrees occurred before May 8th, and the earliest 90 degrees was ever observed.
