A Charlotte-Mecklenburg fire truck overturned Thursday morning in the Ballantyne area of Charlotte. The accident happened near Ardrey Kell Road and Bridge Hampton Club Drive.

Four firefighters went to the hospital with minor injuries. Three firefighters were later released while one is undergoing additional tests.

All firefighters were sent home, but should return as early as Saturday.

The truck was headed to a medical call when the accident happened.

Tyler Roakes shot video of the accident shortly after it happened. In the video, you can see the fire truck caught fire after it overturned. He says he got to the intersection about 3-5 minutes after the crash. Police were already on the scene, and the firefighters were out of the overturned truck.

Another person who shot video of the accident captured the first few moments of an explosion coming from the overturned truck.

The truck, costing three quarters of a million dollars, is totaled.  It was 11-years old weighing 80,000 pounds.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident. The cause is still being determined.
