CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A northwest suburban man, who already faces charges for assaulting three Cook County Sheriff correctional officers in February and March, is again being investigated for attacking two more officers Tuesday at the Cook County Jail, police said.

Daquan Houston, 18, was first taken into custody Jan. 24 in Schaumburg for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to a statement from the Cook County Sheriff’s office.

While Houston, of Schaumburg, was in custody Tuesday at the Cook County Jail, he attacked two correctional officers, police said. One officer suffered a broken nose and a second officer had broken fingers, an injured shoulder and a possible concussion.

Houston was not injured during the incident and was placed in therapeutic restraints, police said. At the time, he was awaiting transfer to the Department of Human Services because he was found unfit to stand trial on April 28.

While Tuesday’s assaults are under investigation, Houston already faces three felony counts of aggravated battery to an officer in connection with the February and March attacks, police said.

In February, Houston struck an officer several times in the face, causing a broken nose and dislocated jaw, police said. During that incident, another officer suffered a broken arm and right hand.

In March, Houston punched another correctional officer in the face, police said.

Houston was transferred Wednesday to the Chester Mental Health Facility, and the two most recent assaults remain under investigation, police said.
