Bidding now open on blighted Detroit homes

DETROIT (WJBK) -- Bidding is now open over a dozen homes in Detroit's East Village neighborhood as part of the city's effort to flight blight.

City officials and the Detroit Land Bank Authority teamed up to launch, a website that's designed to get homes into the hands of people who will quickly fix them

Bidding for each home starts at $1,000 and will increase in increments of $100 until a winner is declared.

Bidding closes at 5 p.m. Monday
