Apalachee High students and staff return to classes

BARROW COUNTY, Ga. - Students and staff at Apalachee High School have returned to class after being evacuated due to a threat Friday morning.

According to Barrow County police, school personnel spotted an unidentified threat written on the bathroom wall when they arrived at the school on Friday morning.

While authorities search the building, students and staff were forced to evacuate to the school's football field for a couple of hours.

According to a release, "a K-9 trained to detect explosives has also been summoned to the scene to assist. No devices have been found nor has anyone witnessed seeing any actual devices."

Officials were unable to located any devices during a search. Students and staff returned to classes shortly after noon.

No word on the perpetrator, at this time.
