Man pulled from Chicago River identified

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A man who was pulled from the Chicago River near the Harrison Street bridge Monday has been identified.

Ronald Brown, 66, was pulled from the river in the 400 block of West Harrison Street after police Marine Unit officers responded about 6:05 p.m. to a report of something in the water, according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

Brown, of the 1400 block of South Canal Street, was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:28 p.m., the medical examiner’s office said.

An autopsy Tuesday was inconclusive pending further studies.

Area Central detectives are conducting a death investigation.
