Chicago Amtrak allowing small pets on some trains

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Chicago area travelers will be the first in the country to be able to take their pets on Amtrak.

Starting next week, passengers traveling between Chicago and Quincy will be able to take small cats and dogs on board.

The animals will have to stay in a carrier under the owner's seat and owners will have to pay a $25 fee.

At least one car per train will be designated pet-free, so that people with allergies will not have to worry.
