Firefighter hurt in West Englewood residence fire

A firefighter was injured Monday morning battling a house fire in the West Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

The fire broke out about 9:35 a.m. in a house in the 6600 block of South Bishop Street, police News Affairs Officer Janel Sedevic said.

A firefighter suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the blaze and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Sedevic said.

It was not immediately known whether anyone else was injured.
