WAUKEGAN, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A Chicago man allegedly stabbed another man to death Friday afternoon in north suburban Waukegan.

Terrance Hendrix, 35, on Saturday was ordered held in lieu of $2 million bond on first-degree murder charges in connection with the stabbing that happened about 1:45 p.m. Friday, according to a statement from Waukegan police.

Officers responding to an apartment complex in the 2400 block of West Dugdale Road in Waukegan found 31-year-old Sammy Lee Wallace had been stabbed in a fight with Hendrix, police said.

Wallace, of the 6900 block of South East End Avenue in Chicago, was taken to Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan, where he later died, according to the statement.

Hendrix, of the 100 block of South Campbell Avenue, was arrested at the scene. Police said an ongoing feud between the men stemmed from an argument that happened at a party about two weeks before Hendrix allegedly stabbed Wallace.

He is next scheduled to appear in court May 19.
