"Best restaurant in the world' tucked away in Lincoln Park

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) - From the outside, it doesn't look like much. But at 1723 N. Halsted Ave. in Lincoln Park, through a black door and down a black hallway lies the best restaurant in the world.

Welcome to Alinea.

Grant Achatz is the chef owner of Alinea, the Chicago staple that has been named the best restaurant in the world three years running by "Elite Traveler."

Despite its lengthy wait for a reservation through a ticketing system, its extensive culinary creations and its $210 person price tag, Achatz says Alinea doesn't need to brag. Hence its humble streetside appearance.

Just a heads up: that best possible experience may not include your children.

Achatz made national headlines earlier this year after tweeting his frustrations with guests whose child was disrupting the other patrons.

As this culinary curiosity approaches its ten year anniversary, preparations are underway for a complete facelift, though its hard to imagine you can improve perfection.

So in the end, I just had to ask Achatz the one question that really matters.
